In the beginning...

This is a blog about the adventures, and misadventures, of turning this space, into a living, breathing, thriving, vegetable garden.
This was our garden space, in April 2010

I'm currently sifting through all my "results" photos, and I'll be posting those soon. But here's a quick illustration of the evolution of last year's garden.

A lot of digging was involved...

A lot of ground leveling was involved...

And we built some beds...

To hold the dirt (er, "soil")...

To grow the plants...

And away we went...

In the first year, we built 4 raised beds, and had 14 tomato plants, amongst many other veggies.

In 2011, we're "doubling down":
New beds, more space, starting everything from seed, and this year...23 varieties of Heirloom tomatoes.

We might be crazy.

  1. I probably should have offered a few details about what you see in these photos. Sorry to be such a tease. In the final photo here, taken in early June 2010, are our four (4) raised beds, each 3' x 12'. The fence facing us, perpendicular to the beds, is on the North side. And that Willow tree got a major haircut.
