Hello World

So, how exactly does one begin a blog?
Is there a right way or wrong way to do this?
If I'm to believe the "blogosphere", the answer is definitively "yes", and everyone has their own idea as to what is the right and wrong way to do this.
Unfortunately, I generally only have one way to do things, and that's to jump right in and figure it out as I go.
So, here we go...
